about the site

The inspiration behind printswithpurpose began in August 2007, upon returning from a friend’s wedding in France. Driving home late one night past Prospect Hill Cemetery in York, PA, I was moved by a display of nearly 4000 small American flags — one for each U.S. Military death resulting from the conflicts in Afghanistan and Iraq. The dimly-lit flags appeared to continue endlessly into the cemetery. The Afghanistan/Iraq War Flag Memorial, shown here, is the resulting photograph. printswithpurpose became the resulting site, based on the concept of pairing donations with print purchases.

printswithpurpose™, a collection of fine art photographic prints, combines the significance of historic and sacred locales with the greater significance of supporting those organizations dedicated to the preservation and advancement of our planet, our culture and our society as a whole.
